Morelos Theatre - Aguascalientes

REVIEW

The theatre was projected by the engineer José Noriega, starting on 1883 and finishing its construction on 1885, the year when it was inaugurated with the dramatic play: The Civil Death. Its Neoclassical style, with three semicircular arches in the front, bosses on the superior part, and small medallions in the storm doors.

Rehabilitated on 1914, the Morelos Theatre attained celebrity on that year: from October 10 to November 14, after the victory obtained over Victoriano Huerta, the different revolutionary groups disputed the power. The representatives of the Carrancistas, Villistas, and Zapatistas gathered in this scenario in order to avoid the break up, and to elaborate a program for a national government.
