The National Center for The Arts (CENART) was created by the National Council for Culture and the Arts in November 1994. Its objectives are to produce and explore new models and approaches about artistic education, research, diffusion; to promote inter discipline in art; to encourage new technologies for art, as well as to create spaces for academic and artistic cooperation among institutions of different systems and levels in Mexico and abroad. It has five schools of professional artistic education on cinematography (CCC), which depends on the Mexican Institute of Cinematography (IMCINE), theatre (ENAT), dance (ENDCC), music (ESM) and plastic arts (ENPEG), in addition to four national centers for music research, documentation and information (CENIDIM), theatre (CITRU), dance (CENIDI-DANZA) and plastic arts (CENIDIAP), all of them belong to the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA).
