Until recently, the history of Aguascalientes was reduced to a transit point for the Chichimeca groups, whose culture developed until the arrival of the Spaniards. However, thanks to the archaeological researches by specialists of the National institute of Archaeology and History (INAH), it has been demonstrated the presence in its territory of ancient settlers with their own social organization and worldview, who left remains of big constructions.

The result of these explorations, since the year 2000 to date, make up this exhibition, comprised by over 300 pieces of pottery, stone, lithic, and bone from four archaeological sites in the state: El Ocote, Santiago, Cerro de en medio, and La Montesita, belonging to the Epiclassic period (600-900 CE).
