The World of Tim Burton

Filmmaker of Beetlejuice (1988), The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) and Alice in Wonderland (2010), among other iconic movies, Tim Burton (United States, 1958), is mostly known for his film work. This exhibition, however, explores Burton’s whole creative production and reveals a versatile artist whose unique vision transcends media and formats.

The World of Tim Burton presents drawings, paintings, installations, sculptures, puppets and images in motion that will help to illustrate the director’s complete artistic practice, not only of his professional films, but also of his illustrated books, unfinished projects and personal works ranging from his childhood to his most recent projects.

All the pieces of this exhibition are part of private collections, except where noted otherwise.

This exhibition is organized by Jenny He, independent curator, in collaboration with Tim Burton Productions.
